In front of Arbatax' beach, a small red porphyry island, named "isola dell'ogliastra" , rises from the sea.  
The water is deep and clear and it is the perfect shelter during windy days. Going on through Capo Montesanto, the coast becomes rocky and impressive cliffs rise from the sea. The landscape here features deep and bright colours: white chalky rocks, green mediterranean scrub, deep blue water and sunny and clear sky. A breathtaking view for all the visitors.
Some of these places can only be reached in two ways: by foot through ancient  paths, which is not recommended, or easily by sea.
It is possible to do daily trips, with boats and ferry boats, from Arbatax' harbour.
